How it works & safety

What to know before you send a request

MyKanun is not a law firm. It is a platform for describing your legal matter, reading what a service covers, and getting your request to an eligible professional whose credential has been verified. Below is what we can do, what we cannot, and exactly what happens when you send a request.

Scope

What we can do

  • Give first-line orientation on which area of law your matter may fall under.
  • Route your request to a professional who is eligible for it and whose credential has been verified.
  • Show you in advance which questions may be asked and which documents are worth preparing.
  • Keep your process, documents, and correspondence in one place.

What we cannot do

  • Give legal advice or represent you. MyKanun is not a law firm.
  • Choose or recommend a particular lawyer, firm, or notary for you.
  • Rate, rank, or publish a leaderboard of regulated professionals.
  • Promise anything about the outcome of your case or claim.

After you submit

How your request moves

01

You describe the matter

A few short questions, and documents if you have them. Nothing is sent until you read and acknowledge the notice.

02

Eligibility is checked

The request is opened to professionals holding the capacities defined for that service.

03

A professional takes it on

Someone with a verified credential accepts the request. Nobody is assigned to you by the platform.

04

A person reviews the answer

AI may draft; the reviewing person is accountable for every answer that reaches you.

Who reviews your request

Only accounts whose credential for that specific capacity has been reviewed and approved can see a request. The capacity an account acts in is recorded on every action. You see who took your request on; the platform does not pick for you.

Where AI comes in

AI helps organise your matter and prepare a draft. Its output is a non-binding suggestion, is not a legal opinion, and is always reviewed by a person before it reaches you. It does not predict outcomes.

What you write stays confidential

Your intake is visible only to you and the professional who takes it on. It is not published anywhere public, not used for marketing, and never mixed into another user's file.

Your data

What is kept, for how long, and how it is deleted

What is collected

Only the answers needed to route the request, plus any documents you choose to upload.

Where it sits

Documents are stored encrypted; only you and the professional handling the request can open them.

For how long

For the statutory retention period after the request closes; the record is deleted when that period ends.

How to delete it

You can request deletion from your account settings; the record is removed unless a legal obligation still applies.

Plain answers

Do I need an account to browse?

No. You can read every service, its scope, and the questions it asks without signing in. Sign-in is only needed to send a request.

Will a lawyer be assigned to me?

No. Your request is opened to eligible professionals and one takes it on. MyKanun does not choose, recommend, or rank anyone on your behalf.

How do fees work?

Browsing and creating a request are free. If you decide to work with a professional, the fee is a matter of the agreement between you and them.

What if I change my mind?

You can withdraw a request and ask for uploaded documents to be deleted. You are always asked before any step that creates an obligation.
